Corporate Worship is:
- Worship is an act of the believer in adoration of and love for almighty God.
- Worship is not so much about what pleases the worshiper, but rather it is about what pleases and brings glory to God.
- The entire congregation is called to engage in worship, it is not just the job of a "worship team", choir, or worship leader.
- Worship is a skill that can and should be developed in every believer.
- As many people as possible should be involved in leading in worship.
- Worship can take many forms including
- singing
- praying
- drama
- testifying
- studying and reading God's word
- listening to the preaching or teaching of God's word
- and offering His blessings to the believer back to Him in gratitude, love, and obedience.
To that end we should structure our times together in such a way that we assist the whole congregation in participating in the worship of God, that we help individuals develop the depth and breadth of their individual worship skills, that we expand the expression of worship of the entire congregation, and that, in all we do, God is glorified.
True worship is obedience to God. When we worship God, He makes Himself known to us. In doing so, He causes us to grow and allows us to see more fully who He is. This growth is sometimes uncomfortable, but it is always profitable to the believer who desires to know God more fully.
It is my goal to use all the resources God places in stewardship to me to assist individual believers and the congregation at large in growing in obedience, service, and worship.
To God's Glory Alone
